5. Sindoor Plant (Bixa orellana) – Planted on World Environment Day Topic: Biodiversity, Traditional Knowledge, and Agro-Ecology

   Thrives in humid tropical climates with full sunlight exposure; adapted to a wide soil pH range.

6. Astatine-188 Isotope Detected – IIT Roorkee Collaboration Topic: Nuclear Chemistry, Radioisotopes & Rare Elements

   Astatine is the rarest naturally occurring halogen (atomic no. 85), all isotopes are radioactive.

   At-188 emits a proton to decay into Po-187 → leads to alpha decay cascade.
