1. Introduction
Proxy Gyan Private Limited ("Proxy Gyan", "Company", "We", "Us", "Our") is an edtech company incorporated in India. We value Your trust, and We are committed to protecting the personal data You share with Us.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how We collect, use, share, store, and protect personal data when You use the website proxygyan.com ("Website"), the Proxy Gyan mobile applications ("Application"), and the related products and services We provide (collectively, the "Services").
This Policy should be read together with Our Terms of Service and Refund & Cancellation Policy. By using the Services, You acknowledge that You have read and understood this Policy. Where the law requires Your consent for a particular use of Your personal data, We will obtain that consent separately and specifically; using the Services is not by itself treated as consent to optional processing.
This Policy is published in accordance with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), and the rules made under them, as applicable and in force.
If You do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Services.
2. The Data We Collect

Account and profile information — name, age or date of birth, email address, phone number, password, and Your educational interests and goals.
-
Transaction information — details relating to purchases, subscriptions, offers You respond to, and products You order. Payment-card details are handled by Our third-party payment processors; We do not store full card numbers.
-
Support information — information You give Us when You contact Us for help or otherwise communicate with Us.
-
Content and usage inputs — information You enter while using the Services, including responses, questions, and study activity.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When You use the Services, We may automatically collect:
-
Device information — device type, device identifiers, operating system, and browser type.
-
Network information — IP address and similar connection data.
-
Usage information — how You interact with the Services, pages or features used, and dates and times of access.
-
Server log information — data Your browser or device sends when You access the Services.
We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7) and through Our servers. We collect device permissions (such as access to storage or notifications) only where You grant them, and You can manage these in Your device settings.
2.3 Sensitive personal data
We aim to collect only the data We need to provide the Services. If We ever need to collect data treated as sensitive under applicable law, We will do so only with Your consent and for a clear, stated purpose.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use personal data for the following purposes:
-
To create and manage Your account and provide the Services You have signed up for.
-
To process payments, subscriptions, and refunds.
-
To personalise content and recommendations and support Your learning goals.
-
To respond to Your queries and provide customer support.
-
To send essential service communications — account, transaction, security, and update notices.
-
To send promotional and educational communications, where permitted, and subject to Your right to opt out (see Section 6).
-
To analyse usage trends and conduct research so We can maintain, improve, and develop the Services.
-
To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and misuse.
-
To comply with legal obligations and enforce Our Terms of Service.
We process Your personal data on the basis of Your consent and, where applicable, for the performance of Our contract with You, to comply with law, and for other lawful purposes recognised under applicable law. Where We rely on consent, You may withdraw it as described in Section 8.
We do not make decisions producing significant effects on You based solely on automated processing without a means for You to seek human review.
4. How We Share Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade Your personal data.
We share personal data only as described here:
-
Service providers. With trusted third parties who process data on Our behalf — for example, hosting, payment processing, analytics, communications, and customer-support providers. They may use the data only to perform services for Us, under contractual obligations of confidentiality and security, and have no independent right to use it.
-
Analytics and personalisation partners. With analytics providers to help Us understand usage and improve and personalise the Services. Where this involves personal data, it is subject to the protections in this Policy.
-
Legal and protective disclosures. Where We reasonably believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to enforce Our Terms, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Proxy Gyan, Our users, or the public.
-
Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case We will require the recipient to honour this Policy or will notify You of any material change.
-
With Your consent. In any other case, with Your specific consent.
We may share aggregated or anonymised information that does not identify You — for example, overall usage statistics — with third parties; this is not personal data.
All processing and storage of personal data under this Policy takes place in India. If You access the Services from outside India, You understand that Your data will be processed and stored in India in accordance with Indian law.
5. Children's Data
The Services are intended for adults. Where a user is under the age of 18, the Services are to be used only with the involvement of, and consent given by, a parent or legal guardian, as set out in Our Terms of Service.
In accordance with the DPDP Act:
-
We will process the personal data of a child (a person under 18) only with verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian.
-
We will not undertake tracking or behavioural monitoring of children, or targeted advertising directed at children.
-
We will not process a child's personal data in a way that is likely to cause harm to the child.
If You are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided Us with personal data without Your consent, please contact Us at the address in Section 12 and We will take appropriate steps, including deleting the data where required.
6. Communications and Marketing
We will send You essential service communications relating to Your account, transactions, security, and important updates. These are part of the Services and cannot be opted out of while You hold an account.
We may also send promotional and educational communications about Our products and services by email, SMS, phone, WhatsApp, or in-app notification. You can opt out of promotional communications at any time using the unsubscribe link or instructions in the message, or by contacting Us at support@proxygyan.com. Opting out of promotional messages does not affect essential service communications.
Where the user is a child, promotional communications and related processing are subject to the parental-consent requirements in Section 5.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep You logged in, remember Your preferences, understand usage trends, and improve the Services.
Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can set Your browser to refuse cookies or to alert You when one is sent. Please note that some features of the Services may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, You have the right to:
-
Access the personal data We hold about You and obtain a summary of how it is processed.
-
Correct, complete, or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
-
Erase Your personal data where it is no longer required for the purpose it was collected and retention is not otherwise required by law.
-
Withdraw consent that You previously gave for processing.
-
Nominate another individual to exercise Your rights in the event of Your death or incapacity.
-
Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with Us about how Your data is handled (see Section 12).
You can access and update much of Your profile information directly within Your account. To exercise any of these rights, contact Us using the details in Section 12. We may need to verify Your identity before acting on a request, and We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
Withdrawing consent: You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Please note that some Services or features depend on certain data, and if You withdraw consent necessary for them, We may no longer be able to provide those Services or features to You. We will tell You where this is the case.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy — generally, while Your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
After Your account is closed, We retain personal data for the period required to meet legal, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution, and fraud-prevention requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Where the law requires a longer or shorter retention period, that period applies.
10. Security
We are committed to safeguarding Your personal data and apply reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect it. Access to personal data is limited to authorised personnel who need it to operate, develop, or improve the Services, and they are bound by confidentiality obligations.
No system can guarantee absolute security. If We become aware of a personal data breach affecting You, We will take appropriate action and provide notifications to You and to the relevant authority as required by applicable law.
You also play a part in security: please keep Your account credentials confidential and notify Us promptly of any unauthorised use of Your account.
11. Public Forums and Links
Public forums. Some features of the Services — such as discussion forums — may let You post comments, messages, files, or photos that are visible to other users. Information You choose to share in public areas is in the public domain and may be seen, collected, and used by others. Please exercise care, and do not post personal data You wish to keep private.
Third-party links. The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage You to review the privacy policies of any site You visit. This Policy applies only to data collected by Proxy Gyan through the Services.
12. Grievance Officer and Contact
If You have questions about this Policy, wish to exercise Your rights, or have a complaint about how Your personal data is handled, please contact Our Grievance Officer:
Grievance Officer Name: Kiratsinh Jadeja Designation: C.E.O. Proxy Gyan Private Limited Email: kirat@proxygyan.com
For general privacy queries, You may also contact Us at support@proxygyan.com.
We will acknowledge Your complaint within 48 (forty-eight) hours of receipt and endeavour to resolve it within 1 (one) month from the date of receipt, or within such other timeline as may be required under applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time as Our Services and legal obligations evolve. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
Where changes are material — particularly changes that affect how We use Your personal data or that require fresh consent — We will take reasonable steps to notify You, for example by email or an in-app notice, before the changes take effect. We encourage You to review this Policy periodically. Where the law requires Your consent for a change, We will obtain it; We will not treat continued use alone as consent to a material change that legally requires fresh consent.
