1. Rani Chennamma

    • Queen of Kittur (Karnataka); led Kittur Revolt (1824) against the British East India Company.

    • Trigger: British refusal to recognize her adopted son Shivalingappa under the Doctrine of Lapse.

    • Initially defeated the British, but later captured and imprisoned till death (1829).

2. Supreme Court on Freedom of Religion & Right to Privacy
