News:

The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure

& Artificial Intelligence (DPI-AI) at Kathmandu University to strengthen multilingual digital collaboration.


About DIBD

• The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) is the implementing body

responsible for advancing India’s multilingual language technology ecosystem.

• It promotes the development and deployment of AI-powered language

solutions to enhance digital accessibility.


Parent Organisation

• DIBD functions under the Digital India Corporation (DIC).

• The Digital India Corporation operates under the Ministry of Electronics and

Information Technology (MeitY).


What is BHASHINI?

• BHASHINI (Bhasha Interface for India) is India’s national initiative for AI-

enabled multilingual digital inclusion.

• It leverages advanced language technologies to make digital services available

in multiple Indian languages.

• The platform supports translation, speech recognition, text-to-speech, and

other language-based AI tools.

• To bridge linguistic barriers in the digital ecosystem.

Autoimmune Blistering Diseases (AIBDs)


News:

Researchers from Panjabi University and PGIMER, Chandigarh have developed Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools to improve the diagnosis of Autoimmune Blistering Diseases (AIBDs).


What are AIBDs?

• Autoimmune Blistering Diseases (AIBDs), also known as autoimmune bullous

disorders, are a group of rare autoimmune skin diseases.

• These conditions occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy

skin and mucous membrane tissues, resulting in blister formation.


Cause

• AIBDs arise due to an abnormal immune response against the body’s own

tissues.

• The disease can affect:

• Skin

• Oral cavity (mouth)

• Nose and throat

• Eyes

• Genital mucosa

• Damage to these tissues leads to painful blisters and erosions.


Symptoms

• Blisters may appear on the skin, mucous membranes, or both, depending on

the specific disorder.

• Common symptoms include:

• Painful or itchy blisters

• Skin peeling

• Open sores after blister rupture

Land Port Management System (LPMS)


News:

The Union Home Minister is set to launch the Land Port Management System

(LPMS), a digital platform aimed at modernizing and streamlining operations at

India’s land ports.


What is LPMS?

• LPMS is an advanced digital platform developed to integrate the functioning of

land ports into a unified and efficient ecosystem.

• It seeks to enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and coordination in

cross-border trade and passenger movement.



Key Features of LPMS

1. Real-Time Information Exchange

• Enables secure and real-time sharing of logistics, customs, and regulatory

information.

• Brings land ports closer to the level of digital integration seen in airports and

seaports.
