week.


What is MY Bharat?

• Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) is an autonomous organization established by

the Government of India.

• It aims to promote youth development, leadership, and youth-led nation-

building.

• The platform serves as a bridge between young citizens and opportunities for

meaningful participation in national development.


Administrative Framework

• MY Bharat functions under the Department of Youth Affairs.

• The department operates under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.


Legal Status

• MY Bharat is registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act,

1860.

• It functions as an autonomous body with a dedicated focus on youth

engagement and empowerment.


Objectives of MY Bharat

• To provide equitable access to opportunities for young people across the

country.

Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Award


News:

Karnataka’s Bidar district has been recognized with the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Award under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain campaign.


Launch

• The initiative was launched in 2024 to promote community-driven water

conservation and recharge efforts.


Aim

• To improve groundwater recharge and water availability through:

• Rainwater harvesting

• Aquifer recharge

• Borewell recharge

• Recharge shafts

• Other sustainable water conservation measures


Objective

• To ensure that every drop of water is conserved through a coordinated whole-

of-society and whole-of-government approach.

• To strengthen water security through collective action and public participation.

SAPLING 2026 Dialogue


News:

The Union Minister for Food Processing Industries recently inaugurated the SAPLING

(South Asian Policy Leadership for Improved Nutrition and Growth) Dialogue 2026.


SAPLING Regional High-Level Policy Dialogue

• The event was organized in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

• It was conducted under the theme:

“Unlocking Value: Advancing Food Processing for Employment Generation and

Sustainable Growth in South Asia.”


Objectives

• To bring together policymakers, industry representatives, researchers, and

development partners for discussions on strengthening food-processing

ecosystems.

• To promote the development of resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food

systems.

• To enhance employment opportunities, nutrition security, and economic

growth across South Asian countries.


Alignment with Global Initiatives

• The dialogue is aligned with the World Bank Group’s AgriConnect Initiative and

the SAPLING platform.

• These initiatives focus on:

• Policy reforms

• Investment mobilization

• Technology-driven solutions
